CASCATA – Edmund, OK An Italian Cuisine Restaurant from the ground up, the Main Dining room has views of the lit upper tree branches above a cascading water element (Cascata), alluding to dining al-fresco. The space incorporates the volume created by the timber trusses where traditionally the vernacular is that of ‘roof’ architecture. A private dining room surrounded by wine display makes for an intimate dining experience.
INDIGO LANDING - Alexandria, VA Located at the Washington Sailing Marina, just off the George Washington Memorial Parkway, this Interior renovation and new corner bar, serves the exterior deck with views of the Potomac River and the lighted Nation’s Capital skyline. RED SAGE - Washington, DC Mark Miller’s American Mythic Western themed Restaurant in Washington D.C., followed the success of Coyote Café in Santa Fe, NM. Red Sage received the Restaurant of the Year Award in 1992. All the unique custom-crafted elements are attributed to the mythic western experience. The fixturing, textures, colors, organic forms and etched glass were all key elements from the onset of the design process.
LOONGBAR, San Francisco, CA Located in the historic power-house building in Ghirardelli Square, the Asian-fusion Restaurant was created for Mark Miller whose roots lied in Berkley. Elements referenced cultural architectural elements, i.e. moongate, food altar, shoji screens, cracked-ice glass patterns, banquets with dragon scale patterns, and sensual colors under theatrical lighting creating an atmosphere of traditional historical design with strong modern forms.
